Morning:
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (or another nearby airport like Arusha or Tarime). Take a small charter flight or a road transfer to the Serengeti National Park. Depending on where you start, the transfer might take between 1-2 hours (by flight) or 5-7 hours (by road).
Midday:
Lunch at your lodge or tented camp inside the Serengeti.
Afternoon Safari:
Go on your first game drive in the Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its vast plains and large populations of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes.
You may also witness the Great Migration (depending on the time of year, particularly June through October).
Evening:
Return to the lodge or camp for dinner.
Optional night game drive (if staying at a lodge that offers it), where you can spot nocturnal animals like hyenas, lions, and more.
Overnight:
Stay at a lodge or a luxury tented camp inside the Serengeti.
Morning:
After breakfast, leave early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater is a collapsed volcano and is often referred to as the “Garden of Eden” because of its rich wildlife, including the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros).
The journey from Serengeti to Ngorongoro typically takes about 2-3 hours, so ensure you leave early to maximize time in the crater.
Midday:
Spend several hours exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll likely encounter herds of wildebeests, zebras, elephants, and rhinos, among other species.
Stop for a picnic lunch in the crater while enjoying the stunning scenery.
Afternoon:
Head back to the airport or your starting point after lunch. If you’re returning to Arusha, you can take a small flight or road transfer back, depending on your preference and available flights.
Evening:
Arrive at your drop-off point in the late afternoon or early evening.
Dry season (June to October) is ideal for game viewing as animals tend to congregate around waterholes, making it easier to spot them.
Wet season (November to May) offers lush landscapes, but animals can be more dispersed, and some roads may be inaccessible.
Packing Tips:
Comfortable clothing suitable for hot weather during the day and cooler nights.
Camera, binoculars, and sun protection (hat, sunscreen).
Closed shoes for walking safaris.
Whether it’s your first safari or one of many, let us turn your travel dreams into reality. With Parks Frontiers and Safaris, your journey promises to be more than a trip—it’s a lifelong memory waiting to unfold.
