Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK). Transfer to your accommodation in Arusha. Rest and prepare for the safari adventure ahead. Overnight at a lodge or hotel in Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park (about 2-3 hours). Explore the park, known for its large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a game drive, spotting elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. Overnight at a lodge or tented camp in Tarangire.

Day 3: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater (about 3-4 hours). Descend into the crater for a half-day game drive in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros). Explore the diverse landscapes of the crater, including its wetlands, forests, and grasslands. Overnight at a lodge on the crater rim or in the nearby area.

Day 4: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

Depart for Serengeti National Park (about 4-5 hours), passing through the Olduvai Gorge (optional, if interested in early human history). Serengeti is famous for the Great Migration (depending on the season) and its vast, iconic landscapes. Start your game drive immediately upon arrival, seeking out lions, cheetahs, and other predators. Overnight in a lodge or luxury tented camp within Serengeti.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Full day exploring the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives.
Depending on the time of year, you could witness the Great Migration or experience other fascinating wildlife behaviors, like predator-prey interactions.

Day 6: Serengeti to Lake Manyara National Park

Day 7: Lake Manyara to Arusha
