The Rongai Route offers a unique and scenic approach to Mount Kilimanjaro, beginning from the northeastern side of the mountain. It is considered one of the less crowded routes, making it ideal for trekkers looking for a more peaceful experience. This route traverses through various climates, from lush rainforests to the arid alpine desert, providing trekkers with diverse landscapes and excellent views. The trek is often seen as more gradual compared to other routes, which may be beneficial for acclimatization.
The climb starts at the Rongai Gate and follows a steady ascent towards the summit. The trek offers a fantastic chance to experience the quiet beauty of Kilimanjaro’s less-visited areas. The Rongai Route is suitable for those in good physical condition, as it requires stamina and endurance to cope with the high altitudes and long trekking days
